Combining an advanced feature-set with a compact form factor, the silver / black Pentax K-70 is a sleek DSLR characterized by its multimedia capabilities, penchant for low-light shooting, and durable construction. Revolving around a 24.24MP APS-C CMOS sensor and PRIME MII image processor, this camera is capable of continuous stills shooting up to 6 fps and Full HD 1080p video recording, and has a broad sensitivity range up to ISO 204800. The sensor's design also omits an anti-aliasing filter, in order to gain greater sharpness and resolution, but benefits from a unique Selectable Anti-Aliasing Filter function that vibrates the sensor itself in order to mimic the moiré-reducing effects of a filter. The sensor-shift mechanism also enables Shake Reduction image stabilization, to minimize the appearance of camera shake, and Pixel Shift Resolution, to composite sequential exposures in order to gain increased detail and resolution.
Complementing the imaging capabilities, the K-70 is equally refined in regard to handling and design, and features a dust-, freeze-, and weather-resistant construction for working in trying conditions. A large 3.0" 921k-dot LCD is available, and features a vari-angle design to permit working from high and low angles, and a unique Night Vision setting can be used to produce a red-colored display in order to maintain night-adjusted vision when working in dark settings. Additionally, built-in Wi-Fi permits wireless image sharing and remote camera control from a mobile device, and the K-70 is also compatible with the optional O-GPS1 GPS Module for geotagging and AstroTracer functions.

The PENTAX K-70 incorporates 100 sealing parts throughout its body, including the LCD monitor, to prevent the intrusion of water and dust into the interior. By pairing it with a PENTAX AW- or WR-series lens, you have a highly dependable imaging system with superb environment-resistant performance.

Anticipating many users’ needs for photo shooting in extremely cold locations, the PENTAX K-70 was subjected to stringent environmental tests in temperatures as low as -10°C. Its dependable cold-weather performance assures stable, responsive, high-precision operation of mechanisms and circuitry, while minimizing fluctuations in battery voltage, even in freezing locations.
Battery performance may deteriorate as the temperature of the shooting location goes down. When using the PENTAX K-70 in low-temperature locations, we advise users to carry a spare battery and keep it warm by storing it in a pocket.
Featuring a dustproof, weather-resistant body and a vari-angle LCD monitor, the PENTAX K-70 has also been designed to be compact and maneuverable. By pairing it with one of the compact, lightweight PENTAX-DA-series lenses, you can enjoy outdoor photography more easily and intuitively than ever before.
The PENTAX K-70 comes equipped with a dependable, high-sensitivity AF sensor module with nine cross-type sensors in the middle. It captures the subject with great accuracy, even in poorly illuminated locations — as low as -3EV — where even the human eye has difficulty in detecting the subject.
The PENTAX K-70’s image sensor is treated with PENTAX-original SP coating to prevent dust from clinging to the surface. If any dust remains on the surface, the PENTAX-original DR (Dust Removal) mechanism can shake it off using high-speed vibrations, preventing any dust spots from appearing on captured images.
The newly designed grip assures a firm hold of the camera body, even when wearing gloves.
Four buttons of the four-way controller are contoured for easy access and unfailing fingertip operation, even with a gloved hand. The mode dial’s height has been optimized for ease of rotation. The PENTAX K-70 has been designed with meticulous attention to every detail to provide optimum comfort and utmost operability.
