The GL-1 Metal Lens Cap by Ricoh is an optional white metal lens cap for the Ricoh GR Digital IV (White) digital camera. A new option for the GR IV camera, the GL-1 lens cap offers a power lock function, which will not allow the camera to start when the lens cap is attached. Even when the power button is pressed, the camera will remain off as long as the lens cap is attached. This is a protective and power saving function to avoid accidental extension of the lens.
The metal lens cap itself offers durable protection from scratching and damage to your lens due to accidental impact and its stylish design and color go well the Ricoh GR IV white bodies.
The GL-1 lens cap will not function with the GR Digital I or II cameras, but will function with the GR Digital III only after a required firmware update.
Note: When the cap is mounted, the camera will not fit into the optional soft cases (GC-3 and GC-4).
